Amazon has denied that it is going to launch any ad-supported free video-streaming service, which was earlier reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Saly Fouts, a spokesperson from Amazon has emailed Variety magazine and denied any such development. She said that “We’re often experimenting with new things, but we have no plans to offer a free streaming-media service.”
The Wall Street Journal report had claimed that the focus of this Amazon free video-streaming service will be TV shows and could potentially disrupt already established players like Netflix and Hulu.
Presently in order to watch video streams on Amazon, customers have to pay for the individual TV shows or movies or buy a $99 Amazon Prime membership which needs annual renewal.
