Microsoft’s Bill Gates has good words for Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. In an interview with the Rolling Stone Magazine, Bill Gates said that they both were Harvard dropouts and both of them had “strong, stubborn” views about what software can achieve.
He also strongly approved Facebook’s WhatsApp deal by saying : “It means that Mark Zuckerberg wants Facebook to be the next Facebook.”
The interview with Rolling Stone Magazine is quite heavily focused on his philanthropic work with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation but while talking about WhatsApp deal he almost admitted that Microsoft might have also thought of buying it by saying that his company “would have been willing to buy it too”.
He also said that Facebook’s WhatsApp deal is aggressive, wise but the price is higher. He said: “I think his aggressiveness is wise – although the price is higher than I would have expected.”
