Salesforce, the world’s biggest CRM (customer relationship management) software provider has announced that the former Secretary of State Colin Powell has joined its board of directors.
A press release by its CEO and Chairman Marc Benioff said:
“General Powell is an extraordinary leader who has inspired and influenced me during more than 15 years of friendship. He was also instrumental in shaping Salesforce.com’s integrated philanthropic model and the formation of the Salesforce.com Foundation many years ago. We couldn’t be happier to have him join our board.”
With the addition of Colin Powell, Salesforce board is now 11 member. Salesforce spokesman declined to comment on the reasons behind Colin Powell’s appointment to the board. But there is no doubt about the leadership qualities and experiences of Colin Powell.
He was the first black american to become the Secretary of State and the first African-American to become a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
