eBay reported on Thursday that 42 percent of its employees are females out of the total 33,000 workforce. The company also announced that the women in leadership roles have also progressed well at eBay and their number has doubled to 28 percent as a result of a three years program.
In comparison, Google reported 30 percent, Yahoo 37 percent, LinkedIn 39 percent, Facebook 31 percent, Twitter 30 percent and Pinterest 40 percent women representation.
In line with the data from other companies, more women work in non-tech jobs where they are represented 49 percent. Their percentage in tech jobs is 24 percent.
However, the diversity at the leadership level is quite pronounced with 72 percent of management level employees being male and white. The tech employees are 55 percent of Asian origin.
