What to Expect From Google’s October 4 Hardware Event

Google is primarily a search company but it has been diversifying its portfolio of services and has been deeply venturing into hardware these days. And on Tuesday, Google is likely to offer a bunch of more products which it wants to be in the market before the holiday season starts.

Probably the most important of these products to be showcased is Google Home, which is a competitor to Amazon Echo from Amazon. Alexa digital assistant in Echo can now handle a lot of search queries and Google would not like any service or product that focuses on search.

So here is a list of what you can expect from this October 4 hardware event from Google:

  • Pixel Phones. It is rumored that Google will launch two Pixel phones with all the latest Android features and high processing powers and displays. The size of the smaller phone is likely to be five inches and for the larger display size it will be 5.5 inches. HTC is the manufacturer of these smartphones
  • Chromcast With 4K support. This video-streaming stick will now support 4K, which will be ready to deliver video from smartphone to a 4K ready television. It is also being reported that it will get a new name, Chromecast Ultra.
  • Darydream VR. This is Google’s effort to ensure that the company is relevant in virtual reality world. DayDream will transform smartphones into VR devices.
  • Wi-fi routers. Google has already one such product called OnHub but it is likely going to unveil a new network device like Luma and Ero for creating better networks throughout the home.
