LG is building the long due Google’s smartwatch, according to a report form The wall Street Journal which cited a person who was in knowledge of the developments on Google Smartwatch.
The Journal says that wrist-worn device will soon form the part of partnership between Google and LG regarding hardware devices.
However, LG might well not be the sole maker of this and it is likely that Google may also team up with other companies too for producing Google Smartwatches. It is the same strategy which Google uses for its Nexus family of hardware products whose hardware is produced by more than one company.
According to a related report from CNET, Google is likely to release the operating system of Smartwatch somewhere in March and the final unveiling of the device will in June on the occasion of its I/O conference. Similar details were also reported by renowned leaker @evleaks.
The Journal had also claimed in October last year that Google smartwatch might be ready with a few months. It is claimed that the device will have strong integration of Google Now but not many other capabilities of this are known.
Whenever Google launches its smartwatch it will have to face tough competition from already known players like Samsung and Pebble. It is also rumored that Apple might also launch its iWatch sometime late this year. Google’s I/O conference is going to take place on June 25-26th.
