Mt. Gox, a top Bitcoin Exchange has apologized to users for the 10 day disruption in its services which has led to its customer not being able to exchange their Bitcoin and said that it was going to resume operations very soon.
The problem is not just restricted to Mt. Gox because it is a widespread problem related to the whole Bitcoin system which came under an attack.
Bitstamp and BTC-E are other exchanges which have been hit due to this problem but the other two Bitcoin Exchanges mentioned have since resumed their operations.
The customers of Mt. Gox have not been able to withdraw their Bitcoins with them since February 7th.
Mt. Gox has said that it is implementing a workaround the problem which is likely to take some days and the trading in the virtual currency will being in a gradual manner. Mt. Gox said on a post on its website:
“With this new system in place, Mt. Gox should be able to resume withdrawals soon. At the beginning we will do so at a moderated pace and with new daily/monthly limits in place to prevent any problems with the new system and to take into account current market conditions.”
Mt. Gox said that more information shall be available to users by this Thursday.
