Netflix Offering $5.99 Streaming Plan (Without HD) to New Customers

Netflix is now offering a basic streaming plan priced at $6.99 per month which is one dollar cheaper than the regular price of $7.99. But the new offering has two cons.

The first drawback is that the new plan does not offer any HD movie or TV show and the user will be able to watch only standard streaming. Secondly the new plan does not offer any concurrent multiple streams. The regular plan allows two concurrent simultaneous streams. The family plan of Netflix priced at $11.99 allows four concurrent streams.

According to a report by Adweek, a Netflix customer representative told a customer that Netflix is testing the cheaper offer with new customers before it is made widely available to all.

Once the new customer signs up for a trial one month free streaming, the new option appears for the customer.
