Nokia has pulled its Here maps app from iOS appstore of Apple. Here Maps app was launched in November last year, two months after App released its Google Maps replacement as part of iOS 6.
Here Maps app was the result of Nokia’s efforts to bring its apps to other devices and operating systems like Android and iOS. However, Here Maps for iOS stagnated since then and had not received any updates during the last one year.
Nokia, in a statement for Engadget, has said that “recent changes to iOS 7” had “harmed the user experience.” A Nokia spokesman later said that they did not blame Apple but rather the app had not been optimized for iOS 7 and has therefore been removed.
Here Maps app had amassed nearly 1500 reviews by users with most of them calling it buggy and with a confused experience for the user.
Here Maps app, however, remains available for the web version and also for Windows Phone 8 devices
