According to a report from The New York Times, popular link curation service Pinterest is going to start offering brands to advertise on its network starting next year.
Pinterest platform will be available to advertisers for promoted pins on payment from next year first day. These promoted pins will look similar to the regular posts from Pinterest users.The users of the site will be able to pin and save these ads like regular pins.
Pinterest has been vigorously testing its ads platform for many months now. It started the first experiments in September last year and the trials for selected brands were opened in May. It will be a pay per click advertisement model at Pinterest and advertisers will pay only for the clicks their ads will receive.
Pinterest is one of the fastest growing websites in the world and currently has more than 70 million users. The relevant ads on Pinterest might be welcome by users because a lot many users are heading to Pinterest for products, travel and other buyer related things and they might be interested in these paid pins.
In order to train the advertisers in advertisements on Pinterest, a service named Pinstitute is also being launched where the company will help advertisers create effective ads on Pinterest.
