Multiple technology sources having knowledge of internal working of Samsung have claimed that Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will support download speeds of up to 225Mbps, which is thrice the current LTE speeds of 75 Mbps.
However, the source familiar with the matter have said that the details are still be ding discussed. They also disclosed that these speeds will be for the local market only and the global availability is still now known.
The present fastest internet speeds in South Korea are in the range of 150 Mbps. However, the largest carrier in Korea SK Telecom had demonstrated last year the availability of 225 Mbps download speeds. At that time not a single smartphone could support those download speeds.
It has also been claimed that Samsung has ordered one million chips from Qualcomm. MDM 9635 is the only chip that support three bands.
Samsung has still not offered any comment on the news story.
