Samsung has revealed its next anticipated smartphone Galaxy S5, with already rumored feature of a fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S5 will be available for sale in April.
The focus of this year’s presentation of Samsung at the Galaxy S5 launching ceremony was its interesting features and not the larger screen like in previous years.
Here are the key features in Galaxy S5:
It will come with a fingerprint scanner for locking or unlocking phone and also for use for mobile payments. A similar features has already been announced by Apple with its iPhone 5S in last September.
There is also an improved camera on Galaxy S5 which now has a 16-megapixel lens. Samsung claimed that the camera on Galaxy S5 has the fastest autofocus available with a focus in just 0.3 seconds.
Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch screen. The battery is also an improved one and can support a talk time of 21 hours now. There is a new “Ultra Power Saving Mode” which not only shuts unnecessary apps and services but also turns the screen of the phone into pure black and white mode for further extending the battery life.
One new exciting feature is a heart rate monitor available in Samsung Galaxy S5 which builds on the already available fitness tracking features of the smartphone.
The phone also is dust and water resistant but the company warned its users that it is not waterproof, therefore, users should take it for a swim. However, if it gets wet, there is not problem.
Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available for sale in the U.S in April. There was no word on the cost of Galaxy S5.
Samsung also introduced two new smartwatches named Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo along with a new fitness tracking device named Gear Fit.
