Wi-Fi calling has been one of the major selling points of T-Mobile since 2007 but now Sprint is also going to bring this Wi-Fi calling feature to its subscribers.
Users of Sprint will also now be able to call without any charges on Wi-Fi networks and they will also be able to send texts free from charges. This is very useful when you are at a place with not optimum signals but have Wi-Fi coverage.
However, the offer from Sprint is quite limited in terms of device selections because currently the offer will only support Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega. T-Mobile offers a wider range of devices but that is mainly due to the fact that it has been offering this facility for many years now.
If you are using one of the above two devices then go ahead and download the software update on your device before you will be able to place free Wi-Fi calls and send messages from the apps folder by tapping “Wi-Fi calling”. Sprint expects to add more devices to this Wi-Fi calling throughout the year 2014.
