Twitter Adds Photo Tagging, Increases Photos Limit to 4 Per Tweet

twitter-multi-picturesTwitter has announced two new features for its users. Twitter users can now tag up to 10 Twitter users in their photos without having any effect on the 140 character limit in place, Twitter has announced on its blog.

The users who will be tagged in a photo will get notification of tagging. Privacy settings allow users to control who can tag them in photos. This photo tagging feature has been available on Instagram and Facebook for many years.

Another enhancement is that users can now attach up to four photos in a single tweet. The Twitter app will automatically make a collage type grid of the attached photos.

Both new features will be rolled out on iPhone app of Twitter starting today and the support for Twitter.com and Android app will follow soon. The viewing of these multi-pictures has already been enabled on all platforms. These will also be visible in embedded tweets.
